Research & Development Cell

The Research and Development Cell of Government College, Bharmour is committed to fostering an academic environment that promotes research, innovation, and knowledge generation. Situated in the remote, hilly, and culturally significant region of Bharmour in district Chamba, the college encourages research activities that are rooted in local realities while contributing to wider academic and societal objectives.

The Research & Development Cell functions with the following objective:

• To motivate faculty members & students to actively participate in scholarly research & innovative academic pursuits.
• To provide academic guidance & institutional support for research publictions and participation in conferences, seminars & workshops.
• To establish collaborative linkages with universities, rersearch institutions, and relevant organizations.
• To align institutional ressearch initiatives with contemporary educational reforms such as the National Education Policy(NEP)2020 and the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs)
• To oraganize workshops, seminars and capacity-building programmes aimed at enhancing research skills & methodologies.

Special emphasis is placed on region-specific research areas, including Himalayan ecology and biodiversity, tribal communities like the Gaddis, indigenous traditions, sustainable livelihoods, eco-tourism, and local knowledge systems. The R&D Cell also assists faculty in identifying funding opportunities and plays an active role in nurturing a vibrant and sustainable research culture within the institution.
